JEFFREY C. SPARKS, born in Winchester, Massachusetts on July
17, 1954. Preparatory Education: Loyola University of Los Angeles
and University of California at Los Angeles (BA., 1980). Legal
Education: Southwestern University School of Law [Accelerated
Honors Program - SCALE] (Juris Doctor, 1986). Admitted to the
California Bar and United States District Court for the Central
District of California (1986). Court-appointed Arbitrator and
Mediator, 1991-Present.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Sparks joined the law offices
of Gray & O'Reilly in Manhattan Beach, California, as an associate
practicing insurance defense litigation. In 1988, Mr. Sparks
joined the law offices of Tomaryn & O'Reilly in Torrance, California,
as trial counsel. Mr. Sparks has tried to jury verdict numerous
cases, with an emphasis upon personal injury, wrongful termination
(sexual harassment), fire and casualty, construction defect,
business torts and government tort liability. Of particular
note, Mr. Sparks was lead trial counsel for Scottsdale Insurance
Co. in obtaining a verdict against Worthington Industries by
proving that the Brentwood Fire ($5 million loss) was caused
by a defectively designed acetylene-B tank (the first successful
design defect case of its kind).
In 1997, Mr. Sparks joined the law offices of Keller, Price
& Moorhead as a litigator, further expanding the firm's philosophy
of providing top quality and aggressive representation of its
insurance and institutional clients.
